Today is June 1, and on Sunday, the 7th, our own Rose Zella and Dick Proctor will be included as honorees at the Old Settlers' Picnic at Devils Tower. There will be no entrance fee for those attending the picnic, and the festivities will be located at the picnic grounds. In the morning, a church service is planned and then about 12:30 the picnic and festivities begin.
At Good Shepherd on the 7th, Morning Prayer will be read. The service will conclude early enough so that those who wish to go to the picnic at Devils Tower will have plenty of time to drive there.
This week is the first week we will have Holy Eucharist on Wednesday at 9:00 and Bible study follows at 9:30. We continue to use the Diocese of West Texas and their Bible study on the Letters of Paul to the Galatians and the first of his letters to the Thessalonians. This is a very interesting study, and we get into some good discussions. If you wish to check the website out, go to www.dwtx.org When the website is open, click on Resources, then Bible study, then Galatians. The study is designed for use by a group or an individual. Join us in the parish hall at 9:30 for study, discussion and coffee.
