All are invited to join us for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 4, to be held in the Parish Hall at Good Shepherd.  Times are from 5:00 to 7:00 for an all-you-can-eat meal of pancakes and sausages.  A Free Will Offering will be accepted.

The next day is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.  The service begins at 12:00 noon.  Imposition of Ashes is a part of this service.  Plan to join us for this meaningful service on March 5th.

Beginning Thursday, March 13th, we will have Lenten Luncheons beginning at 11:30.  These will take the place of the Soup suppers we have had in the past.  Lunch might be Brown Bag, Soup, Pizza, or other meals - to be determined by the group.  In addition to lunch, we will be watching DVDs with the name of 'A History of Christianity' presented by Oxford University history professor, Dairmaid MacCulloch. This series will go back to the origins of the Hebrew Bible.  We will be introduced to monks and crusaders, heretics and reformers, and others as we discover Christianity's essential role in shaping human history.  After the DVD and discussion time, we will close with Noontime Prayer.  All are invited to join us.

The Good Shepherd community recently agreed to donate paper goods to the local Food Pantry as an ongoing project for several months.  We find that the most needed paper goods donations are diapers and tissues.  There are several in the church community who volunteer to work on some of the Thursdays that the Food Pantry is open - the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

Other local outreach projects include having occasional meals with the students and staff of the local Bear Lodge High School. An upcoming meal will be on February 18th at 11:30.  This spaghetti lunch has become an annual event.  Church members donate various side dishes to go along with the spaghetti.  A good time is had by all - you are invited to join us on the 18th.

Update on Soup Supper

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Rev. Sally Boyd will join us for a Soup Supper on Thursday, February 20th.  We begin at 5:30; after our meal, Sally will show a DVD giving us some background and information about church history.  All are welcome to join us for good food, good fellowship, good 'learning' and good worship.
