Happenings in April at Good Shepherd

April has arrived and it will be a busy month.  You are invited to join us for any or all of the following:

We continue with Holy Eucharist each Wednesday at 8:30 am.
Bible Study follows at 9:00, and we study and discuss the readings for the upcoming Sunday.

Lenten Luncheons begin at 11:30 on Thursday, April 3 and Thursday, April 10.  The DVDs of 'Christianity: the First 2000 Years' are proving to be educational and thought-provoking.

Palm Sunday is April 13th.  We begin the service in the Parish Hall with the Liturgy of the Palms. Following that, we process into the church sanctuary for the Word of God, the Holy Eucharist and then hearing the Passion Gospel.

Maundy Thursday is April 17th.  We will meet at 5:30 in the parish hall to share a meal.  Then - in the church, we participate in the Maundy Thursday Liturgy which will include the 'washing of hands.'  We will close this service with Holy Eucharist.

Good Friday is April 18th and the Liturgy begins at 12:00 noon.  This is a solemn and meaningful service as we remember the Crucifixion of our Lord.  For those who wish to continue, the Stations of the Cross follow.

Easter Sunday is April 20th and this service will begin at 9:30.  It will be a festive day and most meaningful to each of us.

On Thursday, April 24th, our Ministry Developer, the Rev. Sally Boyd, returns to meet with us at 5:30 pm. Once again, we will share a meal together, watch a DVD about the Episcopal Church and its meaning, and then we will close with Compline.
